Murchison Falls
     
  This is the country’s largest fauna park, covering an area of 3860sqkm, however with the inclusiion of adjoining game reserves (Karuma & Bugungu) the conservation area covers over 4500sqkm. It is approximately 300km from the capital Kampala and takes 5 hours to travel to the park. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile from Karuma Falls at its eastern boarder and Lake Albert in the west. The most striking feature in the park is Murchison Falls named after Sir Roderick Murchison, founder of The Royal Geographic Society in London. Murchison Falls is 43m high and is funneled into a 7m water rock gorge. This scene is spectacular and can be seen on the launch trip or on a walking safari to the top of the falls.
 
 
The park has 78 mammals and game viewing is excellent and the following can be seen Giraffes, Elephants, Kobs, Lions, Waterbucks and more. Taking a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls gives a chance to see scores of hippos, birds and large Nile crocodiles.  
 
Apart from the large game, the park also has several primate’s including Patas monkeys, Olive baboons, Colubus and Chimpanzees .The parks avifauna is large and diverse and it has over 425 bird species, the most conspicuous being the hornbills, bee-eaters, kingfishers and storks. However, there are also key species for keenn birders e.g. Egyptian plover, Chestnut crowned sparrow weaver, Rock pranticole, Red winged grey warbler ,Pulvus illadopsis etc.
 
TOURS
We offer a three day tour of Murchison Falls National Park

Day One
Arrival, transfer to Murchison Falls, stopping for lunch in Masindi and then proceeding to the park via the top of the falls.

Day Two
Early game drive on the northern bank to view wildlife, birds and the paranomic view of the savanna dotted with borassus palm. In the afternoon have a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, taking a close look at Nile crocodiles and Hippos basking and getting a spectacular view of the magnificent Murchison falls.

Day Three
Early departure to go chimpanzee tracking in the Budongo Forest( Pabidi sector) before returning to Entebbe or Kampala.
