This
is Uganda’s smallest savanna park covering an area of 260sq km and
is home to many zebras. It has got a mosaic habitat of rock outcrops,
dry hillside, open and wooded savanna, forests, galleries, swamps etc.
The above habitats harbor a variety of fauna and flora. The park has 5
different lakes with Lake Mburo in the centre. |

Lake Mburo National Park has 68 mammals, the common ones are:- zebras, impalas,(not found anywhere else in Uganda) water buck, hippos, buffaloes and topis. The park's rare sightings are the roan antelope, reedbucks and eland (the largest antelope in the park). A variety of habitats have contributed to the avifauna diversity and 313 bird species have been recorded in the park. Of these the following are of conservation importance:-Papyrus warbler, White winged warbler, African fin foot, Brown chested plover and Red-faced barbet. | ||||||||
